Online Troop Cookie Manager Training
Troop Cookie Manager
Training will be available online this year! You can access the
online training beginning on December 1, 2008, by going to our
website at
www.girlscoutsofwesternohio.org.
This is a brief presentation that goes through the logistics of the
sale such as important dates, sale tips, Cookie Works refresher, and
more. At the end of the training, a certificate of training
completion will appear on your screen. You must print this
certificate, and then make arrangements to turn it in to your
service unit cookie consultant. You will be given your troop sales
packet in exchange for your certificate of training completion.
(You may also email your certificate to your service unit cookie
consultant; just remember that arrangements still need to be made to
pick up your troop sales packet.) Experienced troop cookie
managers are encouraged to do their training online!
For new
troop cookie managers, it is strongly suggested that you attend an
in-person cookie training provided by your service unit cookie
consultant, or by your regional product sales manager (if
applicable). If needed, service unit cookie consultants will be
arranging one in-person training in their area of town. For the
date, time, and location of the in-person training in your area,
please contact your service unit cookie consultant. Troop sales
packet will be handed out immediately after training.
*All troops wishing to participate in the cookie sale must either
complete the online training or in-person training.
Attention, Girl Scout Juliettes
(independently registered girls)
You CAN participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Sale! Contact
your regional product sales manager for more information.
Attention, Girl Scout Daisies
You CAN participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Sale! To encourage and
recognize Girl Scout Daisies in their first cookie sale, Girl Scout
Daisies selling at least 60 boxes throughout the sale will be
eligible for a “My 1st Cookie Sale” patch! Troop cookie managers
must order these patches when they place their troop’s final
recognition order.

Cookie Cupboards
You may find times during the cookie sale when
you wish you had extra cookies - for reorders, additional sales by
the girls and especially to prepare for a cookie booth. Come to a
“Cookie Cupboard” and pick-up extra cases of cookies!
Cookie Cupboards will be open February 20, through March 21, 2009.
Please check your cookie book for complete cupboard listings.
No cookies will be issued from any cookie cupboard location unless a
Cookie Authorization Card (page 16 in your cookie book) with two
signatures is presented. Be sure you have this card, no exceptions!
You can visit any cupboard in the Girls Scouts of Western Ohio area
to pick up cookies. If you are closer to a cupboard listed for
another region, you are welcome to pick up cookies there.
Please be sure to put your five-digit troop number on any and all
paperwork including cupboard receipts. Please note that some
cupboard locations are ‘mobile cupboards’. These cupboards are
trucks that will be sitting at designated locations for your
convenience. If these trucks are sitting in front of stores, please
do not contact the manager or any personnel from the store. They do
not manage the cupboard. These businesses are letting Girl Scouts
of Western Ohio use their parking lot for certain hours during
certain business days.
Cookie Booths
Cookie booths during the cookie sale are a very
productive way for troops and girls to achieve their goals. It
gives girls an opportunity to learn many skills such as money
handling, customer contact, working together as a team and much
more. Please check your cookie book for Cookie Booth details
and instructions.

CAMP CEO©
is a career exploration and leadership program where 10th-12th grade
girls who “dream big” interact with executive women in a
non-traditional setting. Girls work one-on-one and on a team
with established women business leaders at Camp Libbey in Defiance,
Ohio, enhancing their skills to become a leader in school, business,
and in everything they do. This year’s theme, “Fear Factor” simply
addresses some of the fears girls will focus on as they discover how
their interests and dreams translate into enterprise and
independence. Some of those fears may include the fear of
interviewing, public speaking, networking with others and the fear
of taking the risk to start their own business.
Girls must submit a completed application and résumé as well as
participate in an interview to be accepted into Camp CEO©.
If accepted, applicants should be able to pay a $25 registration
fee for Girl Scout members and $35 fee for non-members and must be
able to participate in the entire CAMP CEO©
weekend, April 24-26, 2009. Up to 20 girls will be selected
for the 2009 program. For more information or to get an
application visit our website at
