Program Effectiveness 2008 Information

Annual Council Meeting:  Saturday, April 25, 2009

The first Annual Meeting of Girl Scouts of Western Ohio will take place on Saturday, April 25, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at the Girl Scout Center in Dayton, Ohio.  All members are encouraged to attend this meeting and to hear the State of the Council report, as well as be introduced to new and returning board members.  There will be an opportunity to provide input on a specific discussion topic and members will participate in a question and answer session.  The agenda and other information about the meeting will be communicated as soon as it becomes available.

Exercise your right to vote!  All council members (active volunteers and girls, ages 14 and up) are encouraged to vote in 2009 for our board of directors and members of the board development committee.  The election will take place between February 17 and March 30, 2009, and members will have the option of voting electronically or by paper ballot.  The link to the electronic ballot can be found on our website
www.girlscoutsofwesternohio.org.  Members may request a paper ballot by contacting Roni Luckenbill, Chief Operating Officer at 513-619-1402 or roniluckenbill@girlscoutsofwesternohio.org
.

This is a new way of voting for Girl Scouts of Western Ohio – our council bylaws were written to allow for “one member, one vote”.  This means that all members have a vote and we no longer have delegates to represent area associations or service units, as was the case in our legacy councils.  Girl Scout councils using this form of decision-influencing have found that it is much more inclusive of the membership and allows for greater involvement by members.

See the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio website for more information.

2009 Annual Giving Campaign

Welcome to the kick-off of the Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, Annual Giving Campaign! Our theme this year is “I Promise.” Just as girls make the Girl Scout Promise, we as adults make a promise to the girls in Girl Scouting. The Annual Campaign provides financial support that enables girls and adults to achieve the mission and goals of the Girl Scout program.  When you make a gift to the campaign you join with Girl Scout parents, volunteer and paid staff, community members and corporations to invest in the development of today’s girls and tomorrow’s leaders.  Send a message to girls that “You Promise” to support the Girl Scout program and her future in Girl Scouting.  Make your pledge today!

Council Shops:

The new Council Wide Community Service Learning Patches are now available in the shops.  The World Patch (a large round patch) is $1.55 each and the two hands are $.55 each. (Please note: tax is included.) Evaluations for the program are available on our website or at the council service centers.
